Itinerary

Day 1: Cusco - Pisac - Urubamba - Ollantaytambo - Aguas Calientes

We’ll start your adventure with a 7:00 a.m. pick-up from your hotel, then head to Pisac in the Sacred Valley to visit the first archaeological site on the route. The impressive architecture and engineering of the Incas at Pisac are remarkable, and you’ll enjoy a guided tour of the complex lasting about two hours. Following this, we’ll descend to one of the most vibrant traditional markets in the region. With excellent prices and direct access to local producers, it’s the perfect spot to find unique souvenirs and gifts for friends and family.

Around midday, we’ll arrive in Urubamba, where you can enjoy some of the best Peruvian cuisine with a buffet lunch at a charming restaurant. A wide variety of fresh regional dishes will give you a delicious taste of the local flavors.

Our final archaeological stop is Ollantaytambo, just 30 minutes from Urubamba. Built with pink granite, this site showcases the incredible engineering skills of the Incas. Here, you’ll see the second-largest Inca stone ever found (weighing 90 tons) within the Temple of the Sun. You’ll explore Ollantaytambo on a guided tour that unveils the secrets of this fascinating place.

Afterward, we’ll head to the train station, where you’ll board the Expedition Train to Aguas Calientes. The journey offers scenic views of glaciers, snow-capped peaks, lush green valleys, and ancient Inca agricultural terraces. Upon arrival in Aguas Calientes, you’ll check into your hotel.

The afternoon is yours to unwind; a visit to the hot springs is a wonderful way to relax after a full day of exploration. In the evening, enjoy a delicious dinner at one of the best local restaurants before heading to bed to rest up for tomorrow’s adventure.

Day 2: Aguas Calientes - Machu Picchu - Ollantaytambo - Cusco

We’ll wake you up bright and early at 5:00 a.m. to enjoy a leisurely breakfast before we head out. This will allow us to catch one of the first buses to Machu Picchu (2,430 m / 7,972 ft), enabling you to beat the crowds and experience the site in tranquility as the sun rises, casting a beautiful orange glow over the ancient stones.

At the entrance to the Inca city, you'll need to present your entry ticket and passport. If you're a student, don’t forget to bring your student ID, as you won't be allowed in without it.

As you enter this remarkable archaeological site, you'll feel its powerful energy and the joy of watching the golden sunlight gradually illuminate every corner of Machu Picchu. During a guided tour lasting approximately two hours, you’ll uncover the secrets and mysteries of this iconic location, learning about its rich history as well as the local flora and fauna.

If you wish to hike either Huayna Picchu Mountain or Machu Picchu Mountain, please note that additional entrance fees apply. After exploring, you’ll take a bus back to Aguas Calientes.

In Aguas Calientes, you’ll have time to enjoy lunch before boarding the train to Ollantaytambo. There, you'll be treated to a vibrant display of dances and traditions. Following this, we’ll take you back to Cusco in our transportation, dropping you off at your accommodation. The time of your arrival will depend on your train schedule.
